Westra Overhauling French Trawler

This was a scene I witnessed many times whilst patrolling in the North Atlantic. The weather is boisterous and the French trawler is toiling with her gear shot in deep water in the area of the Continental Shelf off Scotland. I painted the picture very freely to try to convey the blast of the wind and the constantly changing attitude of the vessels.
Acrylic on old solid wooden board.330mm x 250mm. I have experimented in printing this image up to 780mm x 600mm and it works very well.
