Running before a big sea is a potentially hazardous undertaking for any vessel let alone a lugsail, rigged wooden fishing boat. These fishing vessels of the late nineteenth century are of the type my forebears fished in. I have tried to convey a sense of calm on the part of the fishermen born out of experience,skill and faith in God, in the midst of challenging conditions. This picture was sold to one of the most successful skippers in the pelagic fishing fleet in Scotland today, but is still available in limited edition prints up to picture size. 30 inches x 40 inches
